Ordering garlic seed early is important if you require specific varieties. We often sell out quickly of certain options.

ORDERING PROCESS

Garlic Online Orders

Regular garlic orders can be placed through our Online Store once the garlic is harvested and inventories have been counted in late summer (usually mid-August). The ordering process is simple, secure and ensures your garlic is reserved for you immediately. This is the best option for most of our customers.

Our website will tell you if we are sold out of any varieties or sizes. Once your order is completed, you'll receive an order confirmation and be able to track your garlic after it has been shipped.

If you would like place a Pre-Order, please email us with your name, shipping address, phone number and amounts (variety, total lbs) you'd like to order. We'll then reserve that garlic for you.

For large orders, we can take your information by email or phone if needed. It is appreciated if you look over the cost of shipping, prices and varieties so that you are familiar before calling.  

Please understand that we get hundreds of inquiries and are often out doing farm work. It can take a day or two for us to get back to you. We do appreciate your business, and your patience is very much appreciated!

How Much Garlic To Order?

If you are unsure as to how much garlic to order, you can use the following table to calculate how many bulbs you will need for planting a certain sized area. Remember that these amounts are estimates based on average spacing and may vary significantly depending on a grower's preferences. On our farm, we place cloves 6" apart in row & 12" between rows.

Garlic Sizes

Our seed garlic is graded and sized after harvest to ensure that each pound of garlic has good quality bulbs that are appropriately sized for planting. Average bulb size depends on the growing season, but is generally above 2" (Large), which is perfect for planting. Sizes range from 1.8" to 2.5"   

SHIPPING PROCESS

Shipping Methods

Garlic Boy Seeds ships across the United States from Pembina, ND. We do not ship to Washington State, Idaho or Hawaii due to quarantine restrictions in those locations. We also do not ship to Alaska due to freezing risk during shipping.    

For orders in Canada, please visit our Canadian Online Store (John Boy Farms). We cannot ship to any other international countries due to import restrictions.

Shipments are usually sent using UPS or USPS.

In fall, we start shipping garlic bulbs from early September until October (depending on harvest and drying schedule).

Later placed garlic orders that require shipping after October 20th may be at risk of freezing, depending on the weather and where the garlic is being shipped to. 

Shipping Rates

We offer Flat Rate Shipping based on the region (see below). The price is the same, no matter the size of the order.

Garlic Bulbs:

Orders begin shipping after harvest in early to mid-September and are sent out in the order that they were received. Once garlic shipping has begun, orders are typically sent out within 1 to 7 days of placing the order.

Orders containing both garlic and other products are all shipped together once the garlic is ready.

REPLACEMENTS, RETURNS & REFUNDS

Inspect When Received

We work hard to ensure our garlic is high quality, and we always want our customers to be satisfied with what they have ordered. Although small nicks, slightly open wrappers and minor imperfections are normal, the garlic you receive should be in good overall condition. If you have concerns about the quality of the bulbs when you receive them, notify us immediately (including a picture) within three days, so that we can come up with a solution.

Returns

If garlic bulbs are returned for any reason, they must be in original good condition and returned to Garlic Boy Seeds within 7 days. A 25% restocking fee will be charged, and shipping costs are non-refundable. A refund of the remaining amount will be given. No orders can be returned and received by us after October 7th.

Terms Of Purchase - Garlic Bulbs

Due to the harsh weather conditions often present in the United States, and the many variables involved in growing agricultural crops, Garlic Boy Seeds only guarantees that the garlic you order will be in good condition when you receive it. Garlic Boy Seeds is not responsible for any damage or degradation that occurs once the garlic is received by the customer or the results of garlic grown from our seed. This includes (but is not limited to) damage during storage, cracking, planting or growing.

Our Liability, whether contractual, in negligence, on warranty, or otherwise, is absolutely limited to the purchase price of such bulbs, seed or goods. By acceptance of bulbs, seed or goods, the buyer accepts these conditions.

Terms Of Purchase - Cover Crop Seed

Garlic Boy Seeds warrants that seed or other goods we sell conform to the label or container descriptions within recognized tolerances, but makes no other warranties, express or implied, of merchantability, fitness for purpose or otherwise.

Our Liability, whether contractual, in negligence, on warranty, or otherwise, is absolutely limited to the purchase price of such seed or goods and may not be altered except in writing, signed by Garlic Boy Seeds. By acceptance of seed or goods, the buyer accepts these conditions.
